Hi, I'm Liv. I started Chic Weekly Picks because I had far too many tabs open and nowhere to put any of them.

Fashion, art, creativity, culture. That is the short version. The longer version is that I have never been able to leave a beautiful thing alone. I want to know why it works. Why one room feels alive and another one, filled with more expensive furniture, feels like a showroom. Why a woman in a plain white shirt can look like the most interesting person in the building. I notice things and then I cannot stop thinking about them, which is either a personality trait or a condition.

So I collect. References from runway, interiors, photography, film, travel, strangers, shop windows, the way somebody has folded their sleeves. I watch couture shows the way other people watch television, which is to say constantly and with snacks. I love vintage, I love a crisp button down, and I love the moment a look should not work at all and then somehow does.

That moment is the whole thing, really.

Chic is not a formula. It is not a colour palette or a silhouette or a list of brands you are supposed to have opinions about. It is something you feel before you can explain it, and the part I find most interesting is the explaining. Individuality is what makes it happen. Someone who knows the conventions well enough to break one on purpose, who puts two things together that no one else would have thought to try, who has a point of view and does not check whether it is currently popular.

CWP came out of wanting somewhere to put all of that. A place for the writing, the curiosity, the obsessive noticing. Every Wednesday and Sunday I spotlight a person, a place, or a piece that gets something right, and I try to work out what that something is. Sometimes it is a house. Sometimes it is a painting hung in a hospital corridor. Sometimes it is a sentence in an interview that gives away more than the interview meant to.

I am not here to tell anyone what they should like. CWP is my taste, and my taste is still moving. That feels like the honest way to do it.

Right now I am studying Fashion Marketing and Content Creation at London College of Fashion, which means London is about to get its hands on all of this. I have a feeling it will rearrange things. I am counting on it.
